I’ve finally sat down to write after a day of chaos here! To get right to it, Rhett played in the toilet after Ryne pooped. That kid, I tell you what. His favorite “toys” are the plunger and toilet bowl brush and I’ve truthfully thought numerous times about getting him his own set to play with. Do they make a kid version of these? If not, hit me up Melissa & Doug!
I know I mentioned before that “What Should Danny Do?” is a super cute children’s book, but my mom and Ryne read “Maybe God Is Like That Too” today and it is SO cute. I had bought this book based on the pictures and hoping that it would give a good message, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
I try not to, but I find myself judging a book by it’s cover. I love great pictures in children’s books!
I’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites, but just noticed the Mary Poppins book on our bookshelf in this picture. You can find it here. I loved the pictures in this book too. I felt like it was a purchase for myself to be honest! I also LOVE the new movie. Emily Blunt was amazing!
I have a few classics like, Dear Zoo, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and The Giving Tree included in our list! I also included newer books like What Should Danny Do? and Everything You Need for a Treehouse.
Ryne’s favorite: Steam Train, Dream Train Reed’s favorite: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Rhett’s favorite: Who: Peek-a-Flap
There are so many other books that the boys love. I really only did 12 because I ran out of room on my gift guide! We also love the Napping House found here and my favorite childhood book was Silly Sally found here! I’m sure there are so many more amazing books that I didn’t include! I also definitely left out all the poop and underwear books that the boys think are so funny.
Speaking of underwear, Reed was on day five of wearing these “new” blue, Superman underwear that are actually just handed down from Ryne. It kind of grosses me out saying they were handed down, because boys are SO gross. I just couldn’t handle throwing away Hanna Andersson underwear! They’re like underwear GOLD. Anyway, five days. Five. Days. He even had a bath in there, but refused to wear any other underwear.
So if you smell something while we’re walking by! I actually washed them this morning because day 8 of the Simplify schedule was to start a small load of laundry every morning. I tagged them in a story on Instagram and they actually messaged me! I seriously asked if there would be another day where they tell you to throw the load into the dryer. She actually answered me telling me no, that you are supposed to complete the washing, drying, and folding as soon as possible. Now I’m embarrassed that she thought I was serious. I thanked her and told her it’ll be nice not having to rewash the clothes in the washer multiple times!
Day 9 is setting an alarm. She also mentions setting it before your kids wake you up. She obviously doesn’t have someone waking her up at 3 every morning!
That’s all for now. My kids are begging me to go start a movie and are viciously chomping popcorn in my ear. There’s popcorn everywhere and you’d swear some velociraptors invaded our house today! Nut Job 2 for the second time today, I’ve lost track of the weekly count!
