In the Philips’ news! We actually made the news! We built a family of snowmen and made the front page of our local newspaper. I found it crazy that we were on the front page considering TJ Hockenson, a Chariton native, just declared for the NFL draft. Like he’s good, reeeeally good..but apparently not as good as our family of snowmen! We’ll probably consider adding him to our family of snowmen so he can make the front page next time!
Reed was the hardest baby, but the sweetest (and orneriest) 3-yr old. This snowman doesn’t even have feelings but apparently Reed thought it needed a kiss!
Somehow I didn’t get a picture of Ryne out in the snow by himself. Probably because he was rolling up snowballs like a bossman and giggling when Derek would throw snowballs at me.
Did anyone see that article about the person who tried running over a snowman but it was built on a stump? SO HILARIOUS. We heard some kids breaking our snow family a couple nights ago; is there really nothing better to do but to destroy kids’ Derek’s snow family?! Anyway, I’m thinking I need to come up with a plan for next time..which will start out with us building them in the backyard!
I’m inspired daily still by Marie Kondo and her tidying. I decided to ditch our gallery wall and ordered this giant picture of the boys from Smallwoods. The ottoman was in our other living room and I moved it in here. I had put our old coffee table on the curb a couple months ago because it was old and the leg was breaking and I was afraid someone would stand on it and it’d crash down! I spent way too long looking at coffee tables and decided to just try this and I love it so much more.
The colors of our couch aren’t the prettiest but that thing has survived three boys so far, so it’s with us for the long haul. Our brown chair matches a love seat we have..that is upstairs. We thought we could then put the matching set together if we ever wanted to, but for now it definitely doesn’t match. The ottoman kind of pulled both the blue/gray/brown colors together and made it feel like a completely different room! Also getting rid of my gallery wall was HUGE for me. It was off-centered because of how we had our furniture before, so this made me feel JOY. Thanks Marie Kondo! Oh, and the blue plunger adds a nice touch, don’t you think?
Here’s a recap of what I wore this week. I’m surprised how many days I wore jeans! I’m not surprised that I wore the same jeans almost every day..because they’re SO COMFORTABLE!
Oofta! I’ve decided my style is simple and I definitely repeat different items all the time. My favorites this week are definitely the new American Eagle jeans found here (I ordered longs so they would be more like jeans instead of crops!) and these Target flats found here. I also just found this Cartier dupe nail bracelet here! The Cartier one retails for $7300 which is INSANE. If you want to get even a better deal, I’m sure Derek could start bending nails into bracelets for us all!
I hope everyone has a great week! I can handle snow, but not so much the freezing cold temperatures! Hopefully everyone can stay inside as much as possible and drink all the coffee!
