I got back from a girl’s weekend today and it was sooo much fun. It was literally in the middle of nowhere in the cutest barn. If that doesn’t scream Iowa to you, I don’t know what does! Oh, there were deer heads on the wall too and you could catch someone saying “ope!” a few times here and there!
We laughed, cried, played hilarious games…and I realized they were way funnier playing at 29 than at 19. If anyone wants to have their mom goals set high checkout Buzz Word, Dirty Minds & 5 Second Rule. Boxers & Briefs is another fun one! I laughed so hard that my cheeks hurt (the ones on my face).
I’ve linked the games below and some other ones that are fun, or look fun! I’ve actually never played You’re An Idiot, but I feel like the game would have been fitting for us this weekend! I also realized I’ve read too many children’s books and really made my brain at a preschool level. I need to start doing the daily crossword so I can keep my brain active! I promise I would be the last person picked the next time we play Buzz Word!
I’ve learned as a mom of boys you have to try to speak their language. I have NO idea what this language is, but I know it’s definitely different than the one I speak. That means sometimes I have to settle with an intense game of Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots instead of a relaxing game of Guess Who!
I’ll have to share about our journey with Reed’s ears and his hearing, but for now I just have to share that we had the best news last week at the U of I. He passed his hearing test and we are SO EXCITED.
Here are a few other pictures from our week! Rhett of course always is keeping us busy. He restarted the washer three times. I had to explain to him you ONLY restart it if it has sat in there too long and smells. It does not smell after 20 minutes!
It’s back to reality for these three tomorrow! Ryne has his 100th day of school tomorrow and Reed has a pajama party this week at preschool! I’m sure Rhett will enjoy the break from his brothers – being able to destroy their things without being yelled at or butt punched. I had no idea what butt punching was until I had kids. It’s exactly what it sounds like, if you’re wondering!
Hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday filled with lots of meat and cheese trays, spinach & artichoke dip and little bbq weenies! We have parent teacher conferences this week so it’s a crazy week! I’m going to round up Ryne’s old man outfit for his 100th day tomorrow and snuggle little Rhett who has a nasty bug! Hope everyone has a blessed week!
