Ahh, I realize I got SO behind on our life and I don’t want to have to play catchup for months. So here is a quick (boring) week!
Okay, so not ALL of it was boring. We kicked off the week with Reed’s 4th birthday! It was Hulk themed with balloons and costume! We went to church (where our church sang him happy birthday), ate some tacos at home and went to the Lego Movie with friends! It was a great day!
Every time someone would sing him happy birthday he’d get so embarrassed. He covered his eyes or would yell “STOP IT”. HILARIOUS. He took Hulk cupcakes to preschool and these Hulk masks found here! Every day last week he kept telling people it was his birthday, so he celebrated throughout the week!
Reed got this cute Melissa & Doug mailbox for his birthday! Ryne was obsessed with it. He loved figuring out which slots the letters fit in and loved using the key. Rhett loved taking the velcro stamps off and sticking them back on!
Rhett was up to the usual..causing major mayhem! I’ve decided that 90% of messes I pick up are because of this cute little guy. I brought in our outdoor playpen to use so I could clean and have it stay clean while he is contained for a little while! I get overwhelmed when I’m cleaning one room, only to walk into another and see twice the mess. I’m constantly picking up but you’d never know it..our house is a continual disaster!
Another constant was Reed and Rhett fighting. They both are SUPER stubborn (I blame that on their dad). Ryne and Reed never fought as much because Ryne’s personality is more laid back. He’s more of a people pleaser and to be honest he just doesn’t like to hear Reed cry (it’s LOUD). So he usually just gives in to make him happy. HA! It worked well for awhile, until Rhett came along and obviously doesn’t care if Reed screams or not! So I had to capture this surprisingly happy photo of the two! What you can’t see is that Reed sumo wrestled Rhett off the couch right after..but that’s not the part I want to remember..just this one!
We ended the week spending time with some great friends! The guys took the older boys with them ice fishing while the moms hung out with the littles watching kid movies! I can’t believe I didn’t take any pictures of how exciting our movie watching was LOL, but this picture of the boys fishing was THE CUTEST. We ended up eating those fish for supper.
Did you know: Even though these fish appear dead, THEY CAN COME BACK TO LIFE?! I didn’t know it either. In fact, I totally thought they were pulling my leg when they told me to watch because they’d start moving once they warmed back up in the warm water in the sink. I laughed like they were crazy and then BAM! I screamed like crazy because one started flopping around! How in the world! The creepiest part was how their eyes staring at you because they don’t have eyelids. I seriously learned so much that night at our fish fry…more than I probably wanted to know.
Fish was delicious. Schwann’s french fries were not. Definitely choosing Ore-Ida next time!
I’m working on a travel gift guide post! We leave for Florida soon and I wanted to share some of my favorite items for the boys to travel with. We try to go every year and are too chicken to drive, so we’ve always flown. We are in the air just a little longer than it take to drive to the airport..I can’t imagine a 20 hour drive! Stay tuned!
